CASAC Scholarship Applications

THE CASAC SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD APPLICATION

The Carlisle Area Science Advisory Committee (CASAC) Science Scholarship awards shall be presented to an  outstanding senior student from both the Boiling Springs High School and Carlisle High School who plan to continue their  education beyond high school in science or a related field. Preference will be given to a prior CASAC Science Fair competitors. 

Eligibility and Requirements

1. The applicant shall be a senior graduating from Boiling Springs High School or Carlisle High School in the current  academic year. 


2. The applicant shall be a resident of the aforementioned school districts prior to January 15th of the year preceding  graduation. 


3. The applicant shall plan to major in science or a related field at an accredited college or university. 


4. The applicant shall have their high school transcript and their SAT scores attached with the application. An unofficial copy is acceptable. 


*Please note that you will need to let the Head Counselor know that this will be required to complete your  application when you email them. 


5. The applicant shall have one letter of recommendation from one of their science teachers. 


6. The final selection shall be made after evaluation by CASAC. Selection criteria shall include, but not be limited to: 

  • Scholastic ability and success 
  • Evidence of personal achievement 
  • Participation in the CASAC Science Fair


Boiling Springs Student Applicant Information

Applications are due March 24th to Mrs. Misty Weaver, Counselor. These can either be  sent via email or a hard copy can be turned in at the Counselors Office.  

The applications will then be forwarded to Mr. Christopher Storrick (CASAC Representative) for BSHS students. 

Carlisle Student Applicant Information

Applications are due March 24th to Mrs. Amy Knapp, Counselor. These can either be sent via  email or a hard copy can be turned in at the McGowan Counseling Center.  

The applications will then be forwarded to Mrs. Samantha Moyer (CASAC Representative) for CASD students.

Parents

It is important to note: 

  • CASAC is an outside agency and is a separate non-profit entity from each aforementioned school.  Information regarding CASAC can be found on the website.
  • CASAC Board Members make up the selection committee for the above scholarship and shall have access to all scholarship information submitted by the student.

Obligation of Award Recipients

Attendance at the CASAC Science Banquet in May is expected and the recipient is strongly urged to send a Thank You note to CASAC committee for the monetary award.
